We are very sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. You can file a report on the National Cyber Crime Portal. You can reach out to the helpline number, i.e., 155260.

  • At the outset, you must navigate to the National Cyber Crime Portal. Thereafter, you will be routed to the home page. Click on “File a complaint” button once the page is fully loaded.

  • Thereafter, you will be given a general information box on the significance of the portal. Click on “I accept” to proceed further.

  • If this is your first time filing a cyber crime complaint, you will have to create a user account on the portal. To do so, click on “Click here for new user”.

  • Once you have set up your account, keep the following information handy before logging in and filing your complaint -

    • Time and date of the incident

    • Provide details of the Incident. Use a minimum of 200 characters while you do so. Remember to not use any special characters such as - (#$@^*`’’~|!).

    • Soft copy of any Government issued Identity card (Voter Id, Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Aadhar Card) in .jpeg, .jpg, .png format. Please ensure that the file size is not more than 5 MB.

    • Name of the Bank/ Wallet/Merchant

    • 12-digit Transaction id/UTR No.

    • Date of transaction

    • Fraud amount

    • Soft copy of all the relevant evidence related to the cyber crime. Please ensure that the file size is not more than 10 MB. 

  • In addition to this you can also provide the following information. This could aid law enforcement agencies in finding the suspect -

  • Suspected website URLs/ Social Media handles (wherever applicable)

  • Suspect Details (if available)

    • Mobile No

    • Email ID

    • Bank Account No

    • Address

    • Soft copy of photograph of suspect in .jpeg, .jpg, .png format. Please ensure that the file size is not more than 5 MB.

  • Any other document through which a suspect can be identified.

  • Fill in the necessary details and attached requested documents when you file the complaint.
